That pretty much makes Wipeout the winner by default. The cart games, like Trackmania, default to an overhead view instead of the cockpit view that you really want and have less than interesting scenery. AFAIK, GT only has a limited selection of VR content. A simulation racing game is nice and all when done right, and DiRT Rally 2.0 is the best example of it.
DiRT Rally 2.0 took the positive aspects of the first game and somehow made it even better.

I'm glad they are trying (and completely failing, tbh) to make a game with a hardcore sim feel, but it's a tragic mistake that there are no forgiving game modes for enjoyable romps. There are also very, very few unique locations so you're just playing variations on the same theme with increasingly poor visibility (backwards, at night, in a thunderstorm w/ pea soup fog).
